Dr. Nilgun Anadolu-Okur (Temple University) will be presenting on the remarkable life of Harriet Tubman. Known by many names such as Araminta, Moses, conductor, secret agent, spy, scout, and nurse, Harriet Tubman made immense sacrifices to aid enslaved individuals in their quest for freedom.

Harriet Tubman stands as a classic icon of the black freedom movement, symbolizing America's relentless pursuit of independence and civil rights. She serves as a role model for all Americans who cherish liberty, heroism, and nationhood. Dr. Nilgun Anadolu-Okur's presentation will delve into the stages of Tubman's life, her allies and adversaries on the underground railroad, and the perilous journeys she undertook from Maryland to Philadelphia, towards her ultimate destination of Saint Catherine's in Canada.
